No verified primary source like letters or poems confirms Michelangelo said it exactly; it may stem from his ideas on creation or evolve from earlier proverbs traced to Cosimo de' Medici.

Regardless of who said it, I love this quote and also this piece. When I reflected on the question: "I wonder what their brain looked like" but in the context of myself- this was what I created.

I know my brain is just a grey lump of ick just like everybody else's, but it's fun to imagine otherwise. :)
