“This is not a pipe (The Treachery of Images, 1929) is René Magritte's famous surrealist oil painting showing a realistic tobacco pipe with the French caption "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" ("This is not a pipe"), challenging viewers that the image is just a representation, not the real object, poking at language-reality gaps popularized by philosopher Michel Foucault's 1973 essay.

In the brain, it tricks visual cortex pattern-matching while prefrontal areas question symbols versus things, sparking cognitive dissonance via mirror neurons simulating "pipe-ness" without physical grasp

I’m not a big fan of beige or cream (in artwork or otherwise) so my version comes with pop art infused halftone dots and polka dots for a bit of sass and sparkle.
