"Mind reader," slang for someone who magically guesses thoughts, popped up around 1862 amid spiritualism craze, blending "mind" (Old English for intellect) with "read" (to interpret), replacing older "clairvoyance" for psychics claiming to peer into heads via séances or cold reading tricks. In reality, pros like mentalists use subtle cues—facial micro-expressions, body language, and probability—to mimic telepathy, as mirror neurons in the premotor cortex fire when spotting others' intent, letting empathetic brains "simulate" minds for uncanny accuracy.

One of the first pieces I created for this collection. I love the simple but striking monochrome and pop art elements. Pair it with 22 or 25 or with any of the monochrome pieces from the collection.
