The phrase "my mind is a garden, my thoughts are the seeds" (often shortened to "my mind is a garden") is a metaphor picturing your brain as fertile soil where ideas, habits, and emotions grow like plants, you plant good seeds for positivity and wisdom, or let weeds like negativity take over if neglected. It comes from early 1800s self-help writing, exploding in 1851 via Gospel hymn "The Garden of the Mind" and later popularized by folks like Henry David Thoreau and 20th-century motivational speakers like Earl Nightingale, who tied it to tending thoughts daily through mindfulness or weeding out doubt.
